But do you know the real meaning of Advent Calendar? The Advent Calendar is a countdown, that starts in fact the 1st December and ends Christmas Day. The tradition of Advent Calendar comes from Germany, as a lot of habits about Christmas time ... as for example Christmas market. Aproximately in 1920, Gherard Lang introduces  in his family routine a rite that his mother followed when he was a child, so to wrap 24 little bag of cookies, probably gingerbread, to eat day by day til Christmas Day. With time Advent Calendar broadcasts itself outside German borders and acquires different appearences, also if the traditional one has always been the sweet one. The Calendar goes around the entire Advent time, a moment of deep spirituality, but also a time of great joy and love, typical of Christmas waiting times.
